Highlights

  • Discover the museum at your own pace, with 450 emblematic objects, a video tour featuring never-before-seen archives, and a space dedicated to temporary exhibitions.

  • After your visit, take advantage of the Gainsbarre restaurant and cocktail bar, and
the book and gift shop with its fine selection of books and objects.

At 14 rue de Verneuil, you access the museum composed of a space dedicated to the permanent collection and a space dedicated to temporary exhibits.
Lasting approximately one hour, the permanent exhibition offers an insight into Serge Gainsbourg’s world through a journey condensed into eight chronological chapters. It presents nearly 450 original objects: manuscripts, artworks and emblematic objects, jewelry and clothes, belonging to Serge Gainsbourg and coming from Maison Gainsbourg's collection, its vast documentary archive as well as exceptional loans from
    institutional and private collections.

Eight screens broadcast a selection of rare and sometimes unpublished television, film, radio and photographic archives. This fiftyminute video tour features Serge Gainsbourg, in voice-over, recounting his own trajectory.
The basement of the museum is dedicated to temporary exhibitions that highlight some of the key events in Serge Gainsbourg’s life and career. Enjoy the last few months to discover the temporary exhibition dedicated to "Je t'aime... moi non plus”.

First class museum

We purchased the ticket on July 12 and visited on July 16. The Louvre is huge, plan at least 4 hours. It took us approx 10 minutes to enter because of the security checks. This was very good compared to the big line for the other people. Will go to the Eiffel Tower tomorrow and will leave a review as well.
